Jay Cutler Traded to Chicago
Real World
I was surprised by this trade just for the mere fact that the Chicago Bears have a legit QB. In all my years of watching Football Chicago always had a mediocre QB. What was funny is how Lovie Smith would always say that the QB position was adequate when we all knew Grossman and Orton would not get the job done. Chicago gave up a couple of first round picks, a third round pick along with Orton for Cutler and a fifth round pick. Clearly I think the Bears got the better of the deal unless those first round picks turn out to be superstars. It will take years for us to find that out so in the mean time Cutler and the Bears are favorites to win the NFC north and trust me they'll make the playoffs. Just look at it, the Bears always have a solid defense its their offense that is anemic. Yes it got a little bit better last season with Matt Forte breaking out. Now they added a pro bowler with a rocket arm in Cutler. The Bears will be a scary team next year. Cutler doesn't have his deep threats in Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal but he will make do.
Its funny reading the columns on ESPN in where they say Denver got the better of the deal because they got Orton He is a serviceable QB but when you are competing with Rex Grossman for the QB spot thats not saying much. If Jay Cutler and Rex Grossman were on the same team it wouldn't even be a competition so that exactly lets you know what type of player Orton is. Before this week if you ask any true football fan what the Bears number one problem was, they will tell you its their QB position. That problem is solved. Watch out for the Bears next season.
Fantasy World
This trade knocks down Cutler a few notches in his draft ranking. When he was in Denver they were always losing didn't really have an effective ground game so he aired it out all game. In Chicago he doesn't have the same amount of deep threats and the Bears are a more complete team than the Broncos.
